Learning more about Paint Protection Film (PPF)

PPF: Is it right for me?

"Wax, Sealant, Coating, Film? How do you choose?"

We're here to help recommend the best option for you. Sometimes, that option is PPF.

PPF, formerly referred to as "clear bra," has advanced significantly over the last 5-10 years. The self-healing and protective properties of these films provide superior protection against traditional elements, rock chips, road debris, and often even more extreme instances like paint transfer incidents.

These films are traditionally nearly invisible and installed in such a way that you wouldn't know it was there unless someone told you.

If you're looking for a cosmetic upgrade in addition to protection, there are new additions to the playing field, such as stealth finishes and full-color changes, that have expanded the possibilities of paint protection in ways that vinyl wraps are not designed to handle.

Beyond physical protection, PPF has a proven track record of helping maintain or even increase vehicle resale value.

PPF Coverage Options

  • Full vehicle coverage (Clear, Stealth or color-change)

  • Track package (full front end, pillars, partial roof, rocker panels, lower quarters, and immediate coverage behind the wheels)

  • Front-only protection

  • Partial front (hood and bumper)

PPF can be customized to suit your vehicle's needs, offering protection exactly where you need it most.

Is PPF Right for Your Vehicle?

If you frequently drive on DFW’s highways, where construction debris is common, any vehicle with a paint job worth protecting can benefit from at least partial or track-pack PPF coverage. The cost, benefits, and longevity of PPF outweigh the potential damage caused by rock chips and road debris on I-35.

PPF not only prevents costly repairs but also helps maintain a clean vehicle history by avoiding paint-related repairs that could affect resale value. Avoiding the hassle of body shop repairs and vehicle downtime makes PPF an even more practical investment.

Recommended Applications

Vehicles with OEM satin or matte paint: These finishes are difficult to match or blend in the event of a respray, making full-coverage PPF essential.

Supercars, high-end sports cars, and luxury vehicles: Full or track-pack coverage is highly recommended to maintain long-term value and aesthetics.

Leased vehicles: A track-pack or front-end PPF application can help prevent wear-and-tear charges at the time of return.

Whether protecting a daily driver or a high-end vehicle, PPF offers long-term benefits that go beyond traditional paint protection methods.
